Markus and I are sat on our Virgin Flight to Blighty, doors are about to close so I should stop! if you are flying with Virgin Balloons in Cambridge or Peterborough this summer then theres a strong chance that I will be your pilot and Markus my crew chief. Already we are marvelling at the inflight entertainment available. Guess we have been flying too many African airlines. Our European Safari begins. G

    Kamberg Trout Fishing Festival

Two days ago I flew a film crew from DSTV and my friend Karen Edwards of the Spotted Horse Pub.

She takes excellent family portraits and being an ex model herself knows how to get the best out of her subjects. Well worth a visit there to see her work on the wall.

Heres some stills that she took, we lucked in I dropped right down into Inchbrackie Falls just outside of Rosetta. The Police helicopter even came to look

It was a perfect flight, I guess thats why yesterday had to happen!

The wind from the Drakensberg made hot air ballooning impossible again today. Its time for me to fly north for the summer.

    Quick time

Sat in the basket on the trailer coming back from the Karkloof which is miles from our take off in Mooi River. The landing this morning went very well considering it took place at just over 20 knots. The last time i looked at the gps it said 25 and that was as i entered the field. Passengers thankgoodness are blissfully unaware of what an interesting time they have just had. Bring on England next week get me away from Berg winds, The Sharks play the Bulls in the big final later... Go Sharks

    Radio 2000

If you are in South Africa, I will be on Radio 2000 today for 30 seconds just quickly saying what we do ballooning wise down here.
I think its either 1250 or 1310 sometime around the news. I love it when radio stations call up out of the blue, must be the forth or fifth quick comment that I have had to do in the last year.
Not sure I aquitted myself very well on this one though.

    Time moves on.

Its getting dreadfully close to my return for a summer in UK.

I am not looking forward to it.

Hopefully it will give me time to pursue another little project which will in turn come into its own when I next return to the Mara in 2008. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=664795&page=2#post7450497

Only three more balloon flights for me in South Africa until like the swallows I fly North for summer.

    Lawn Mower Man

Now that the big 4 oh approaches I should be entitled to :-

    a, Sports Car

    or

    b, Mistress

Whilst walking around and around pushing the mower for the last two days I think I would like to swap the sports car for a ride on mower.

But maybe I should go for a mistress that likes mowing lawns??
