    Back in South

So I'm back in South Africa, about to start flying again.

I had an amazing leaving doo, arranged by my dear friend Elly and her husband Milton over at Fig Tree. Pilots and friends attended from all over the Mara and it was great.

At this point I should try and add photos, and as is shown in the post below they don't appear inline which is very annoying. Anyhow I can't add pictures because Bam Bam (Christiaan, the 206 pilot) left my camera in a helicopter that we were lucky enough to blag a ride in. The chap let me drive overhead the party but unfortunately we could'nt land on because it was too dusty and he did'nt want to ruin the $120,000 filters in the Augusta 109 power.

The helicopter had come down from Switzerland and in it was Michael Politza http://www.michaelpoliza.com photographer extraordinaire. He was accompanied by his girlfriend and the 109's owner Stefan Breuer http://www.wiesmann.com also another heli pilot plus a cessna caravan and pilots for luggage. They are travelling from Switzerland to Cape Town by heli and taking amzing pictures as they go. You can even download their track and display it on Google Earth, along with images. V Cool.

Heres what one site says about the trip.

From Germany, the low-level flight path takes in Italy and the Mediterranean Sea via Crete, before crossing Africa via Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia before ending in South Africa towards the end of October.

Travelling together with friend Stefan Breuer, their objective is to capture the beauty of Africa from a bird's-eye view, and to share their eight-week adventure with readers around the world.

Check here for Google Earth link especially good if your into German http://www.stern.de/lifestyle/reise/fernreisen/569220.html?nv=sb

Flickr set here http://flickr.com/photos/poliza/sets/72157594276616377/ You'll see that Michael is no slouch in the photo department.

So whats the upshot of all those links, my camera is taking the long way home!!!
